Yong Maeng Jong Jin (YMJJ) means “To Leap Like a Tiger While Sitting”. Retreats are an opportunity to strengthen our practice, to perceive more clearly and act from our natural compassion and wisdom.

Have you ever wanted to deepen your practice and live at a Zen Center?  Right in the heart of Central Square; participate in daily practice and community life including talks, weekly kong-an interviews, monthly retreats, programs. We have an opening for a one-bedroom apartment for one or two people to join CZC’s residency program.  Requirements for residency are 4 days of retreat in the Kwan Um School, and approval by the Abbot.  Apply to abbot@cambridgezen.org.

Note: There will be four sitting periods of 30 mins each with 10 mins break in between periods. You may join the Zoom meeting at 9:00 AM or 9:30-9:40 AM. If new, please arrive 10-15 minutes early for brief instruction on our practice forms. The long sitting concludes with the Four Great Vows. The last Sunday and Tuesday of each month will feature zoom participants first for interviews.

Winter Kyol Che 2027 at Providence Zen Center

Join us at Providence Zen Center for one to thirteen weeks of Zen training with visiting teachers and our resident community. Each week brings opportunities for sitting, walking, chanting, bowing, work practice, and individual teaching interviews. Choose the weeks that work for you; they don't need to be consecutive.

Scholarships

Everyone should have the opportunity to practice. Need-based scholarships are available for Kyol Che. Additional Kyol Che support may be available to KUSZ members and teachers with guiding teacher approval. If cost is a concern, please apply.
