Unpacking Whiteness Group

In these one hour meetings, we join together to talk about race and dharma practice, and examine how white privilege operates as we examine the question "What Am I?" Inquiries are presented and facilitated by Senior Dharma Teacher Jennifer Magrone, who brings over ten years of professional experience with addressing how bias and identity oppression operate. Foundations of Kong-An Work

A re-introduction to the Kwan Um teachings about Don't Know, Substance, Hit, Truth and Function that lay the groundwork for working with kong-ans. Also, a discussion about the importance of kong-ans to our practice and our everyday lives. Participants must have passed Joju's Dog. A great conversation for those who love and/or are confused and frustrated by kong-ans.

Interfaith in practice

Wed 22 April 6:00-7:30 PM

Please join us at the Cambridge Zen Center for the first in a series of "interfaith in-practice" public programs with spiritual leaders from the local neighborhood. This dialogue on the personal dimensions of spirituality will be moderated by Colin Beavan, JDPSN in conversation with Brother Keith, Rabbi Chloe Zelkha, and Swami Tyagananda, who will also speak on their journeys as clergy and share practice forms. BIPOC Group

This Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) practice group is a monthly gathering of self-identifying BIPOC practitioners that provides a safe place to meditate and explore contemplative practices. In a typical practice group, we enjoy a mix of sitting meditation, walking meditation, readings, and dharma sharing about our experiences and practice in everyday life.

If you are new to Zen, you are invited to attend our Meditation Instruction Class at 6:45 PM -7:30 PM every Thursday. Highly recommended for new students prior to attending a practice session. You are welcome to come to repeat sessions.

Dharma Talk

Dharma talks give you an opportunity to ask questions you might have about Buddhism, Zen teachings, or the connection between Zen meditation and daily life. Refreshments and social time following.

Tom Johnson, SDT will answer questions after an introductory talk by Beth Walsh, SDT.

The last Sunday and Tuesday of each month will feature zoom participants first for interviews.
